These are the skills nursery specifically builds through daily routine, not through worksheets.
What a Structured Nursery Actually Builds
In a British EYFS setting, children practise transitioning between activities on a schedule, taking turns, and following classroom routines like circle time and tidy-up — the exact behaviours that make the first weeks of formal school easier. Children who have never experienced any structured group setting before starting school often need weeks to adjust to things nursery children already find normal: lining up, raising a hand, waiting for a turn.
